The call for proposals under the open competition for the implementation of public tasks in the fields of ecology, animal protection and the protection of natural heritage has now closed.

Within the deadline specified in the competition announcement, Ostrołęka City Hall received 12 proposals. Nine were submitted under the first category of activities, concerning the organisation of local workshops, training sessions and environmental events that are open to the public and intergenerational in nature. Three proposals were submitted under the second category, concerning the preparation and implementation of local awareness campaigns addressed to residents of the City of Ostrołęka and the project partner, the Rzekuń Municipality. These activities include providing information through social media, running information points during city events promoting environmentally friendly lifestyles, and developing educational materials.

The total value of the submitted proposals amounts to nearly PLN 1,300,000. According to the competition announcement, a total of PLN 625,000 has been allocated for grants in 2026.

The next stage will involve the formal and substantive evaluation of the submitted proposals by a committee appointed by the Mayor of Ostrołęka. The results of the competition will be announced on 24 July 2026.

The competition is being carried out as part of the “Ostrołęka – Young People at the Centre” project, financed under the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme. The funding will support valuable initiatives combining education with practical activities aimed at protecting the natural environment.
