Public consultation on green and environmentally friendly urban spaces in Ostrołęka under the Polish-Swiss Urban Development Programme
At the initiative of the Mayor of Ostrołęka, Paweł Niewiadomski, a public consultation process under the Polish-Swiss Urban Development Programme was launched on 3 April 2026.
The purpose of the consultation is to gather residents’ opinions, comments and proposals concerning the development of public spaces in Ostrołęka, in particular with regard to:
- the selection of vegetation, including trees, shrubs, perennials and other greenery,
- street furniture and small-scale urban infrastructure, including benches and waste bins,
- the appearance, function and vegetation of the pergola on Steyera Street,
- removing paved surfaces and introducing more greenery in the car park on Prądzyńskiego Street,
- proposals for the development of the area on Kopernika Street and suggestions for a name for the rain garden.
The aim of the consultation is to learn about residents’ views and involve them in the process of planning and shaping green urban spaces in a way that responds to the needs of the local community and follows the principles of sustainable development. The consultation also aims to strengthen the local community’s sense of connection with the project implemented under the Polish-Swiss Urban Development Programme.
The consultation will be held from 3 April to 24 April 2026 inclusive. Comments may be submitted in writing using a consultation form (paper forms are available at Ostrołęka City Hall) or electronically using the online form available at:

An open consultation meeting for residents of Ostrołęka and the Rzekuń Municipality will take place on 17 April 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the A. Gołaś Sports and Entertainment Hall on R. Traugutta Street in Ostrołęka.
The completed form must be submitted between 3 April and 24 April 2026 inclusive in one of the following ways:
- in person at the Ostrołęka City Hall registry office: Plac gen. J. Bema 1, 07-410 Ostrołęka, or Kościuszki 45, 07-410 Ostrołęka;
- by sending a scanned copy by e-mail to: um@um.ostroleka.pl;
- by post to Ostrołęka City Hall, Plac gen. J. Bema 1, 07-400 Ostrołęka. In the case of paper forms sent by post, the date on which the form is received by Ostrołęka City Hall will determine whether the deadline has been met;
- by completing the online form at https://mieszkamwostrolece.pl/szwajcar_ekologia and submitting it electronically.
The public consultation is being carried out under the Polish-Swiss Urban Development Programme and is co-financed by the Swiss Funds supporting the reduction of economic and social disparities in the European Union and by the Polish state budget.
